Navigation and anti-collision training available to Filipino seafarers
MANILA,
Oct. 6 (PNA) — One of Japan’s largest shipping companies, “K”-Line, has
announced it is willing to give navigation and anti-collision training
to Filipino seafarers interested in working for huge merchant marine
fleet.
The
shipping company said the training will be done on its
newly-constructed facility in Pasay which is equipped with
state-of-the-art simulators and has the capacity to train 10,000 seamen
trainees annually.
A
modern clinic fully furnished with modern medical equipment is also
installed to look after the health of prospective seafarer trainees

said Filipino sailors enrolled in the program will be given intensive
anti-collision and grounding training, and shiphandling in congested
and narrow waterways by very experienced instructors.
The
shipping firm decided to include anti-collision training in its
training syllabus for its prospective crews as the incidents of
collision worldwide have skyrocketed through the years.(PNA)
