Singer-actress Karylle to sing in a concert to help retired, ailing prelates in Palawan

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, July 10 (PNA) -– Singer-actress Karylle is arriving in this city on August 4 to hold a concert for a foundation for retired and ailing prelates in Palawan.

Ana Karylle Padilla Tatlonghari in real life, the daughter of also singer-actress Zsazsa Padilla, the multimedia actress will hold the fund-raising concert “Karylle Live, Pari Ko, Pari Ko” for the Padi Y Ang Palawan Foundation, Inc. (PYAPFI) at the Puerto Princesa City Coliseum.

Fr. Eugene Elivera of the Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Princesa and the main founder of the PYAPFI disclosed that the singer-actress will perform with other ordained ministers of the Catholic Church in Puerto Princesa and the province in the concert that is the first major effort to help retired and ailing prelates.

“We are blessed in the Padi Y Ang Palawan Foundation because Karylle has agreed to help us care for our retired priests and those who are ailing,” Fr. Elivera said.

Fr. Elivera expressed admiration to the young singer-actress whom he described as very down-to-earth and very kind.

“We have found a good friend in her and we hope she will continue her life mission to help other people in need. She has a good head on top of her shoulders and we hope many other artists will be like her,” he said.

Karylle is known also in the entertainment world as a singer-actress who is involved in various charity works for orphaned children.

The PYAPFI was formed in March 2006, said Fr. Elivera, to assure elderly priests of financial help once they retire from the ministry.

It seeks to assure them of assistance that can at least cover their basic needs to maintain a decent standard of living.

As beneficiaries, the priests become members of the Foundation and put in to its funds through a scheme that is similar to how an individual contributes to the Social Security System (SSS).

Tickets for the concert will be at P50, P100, P300, P500 and P1,000. (PNA)
