PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Sept. 22 (PNA) -- The popular ABS-CBN noon-time variety and game show hosted by Willie Revillame is coming in this city on October 11, a day before Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn celebrates his 62nd birthday on October 12.

Revillame will be in the city with his female co-hosts RR Enriquez, Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, popular comedienne Pokwang and the ASF Dancers that gave birth to well-liked dance performers Luningning, Milagring and Mariposa.

It is expected that the famous variety show will draw a crowd of nearly 100,000 people from the city and nearby municipalities to see Revillame.

The venue where it will be held is at the parade ground of the Western Command (Wescom) in Barangay San Miguel adjacent to the Tara Golf Course and Wescom Firing Range.

The area was personally chosen by the Wowowee staff composed of production designers and security.

In a meeting with Hagedorn, Commodore Ruperto Rico C. Borromeo and the Wowowee staff, the Wescom Parade Ground was picked as venue of the game show because it is open air, lined with trees that clearly represents Puerto Princesa as a “City in a Forest” and can be easily secured.

Hagedorn said Wowowee’s visit to the city was made possible by Gina Lopez, the ABS-CBN Foundation Managing Director, who has learned to love Puerto Princesa as her own place due to its strong campaign to protect the environment.

“This is our birthday gift to the people of Puerto Princesa who have been with us in protecting our environment since we started our leadership,” he said.

The Wowowee staff said Revillame is already excited to go to Puerto Princesa and personally meet Hagedorn, whom he has heard a lot about in terms of sustainable environment protection and progressive social development.

The staff cautioned that the security for Wowowee is discouraging pregnant women from joining the heavy crowd and children below six years old for security purposes. (PNA)
