Manila has started to prepare to host the 59th edition of the annual
Fil-Am Golf Tournament from November 19 to December 6 with an expected
participation of 1,200 amateur golfers.
This
was learned from Anthony de Leon, general manager of the Baguio Country
Club (BCC), one of the two world-class venues of the prestigious sport
with the most modern golf facilities.
He said that the foreign golfers come mostly from several Asian countries and the USA.
De Leon said that the Camp John Hay (CVH), the other venue of the event has also started preparations.
The
event has always helped this city sustain a good number of foreign
visitors especially the on-set of summer which is also the start of the
peak season for tourism here.
De
Leon has again asked the cooperation of the residents and the business
sector in giving warm welcome and utmost security and hospitality to
the visiting golfers.(PNA)
