PGMA to grace the Manila Hotel's 96th anniversary celebration on Monday

MANILA, Oct. 5 (PNA) -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will grace the Manila Hotel's 96th anniversary celebration on Monday (Oct. 6).

From Malacanang Palace, the President will motor at 7 p.m. to the Manila Hotel right beside the Rizal Park, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

She is expected to arrive at 7:30 p.m. at the Manila Hotel's Tent City, the official venue of the hotel's anniversary celebration, with the Manila Hotel owner, Don Emilio Yap, and Manila Hotel president, Jose Lina Jr. welcoming her.

Some 2,000 guests, including well-known personalities, political figures, and members of the diplomatic community are expected to attend the grand celebration.

The Manila Hotel, widely known for its historic past, was built in 1912 on 3 1/2 hectares of land along Roxas Boulevard.

It has a rich tradition of hospitality, fine dining and a first-class service which is Filipino in character.

Some of the world's prominent personalities, including historical figures such as country presidents, political leaders and international celebrities, have set foot and stayed in this hotel's 570 fully-renovated de luxe rooms and suites.
