Davao football coach named AFC U-16 match commissioner
DAVAO
CITY, Oct. 3 (PNA) -- Davao Football Association (DFA) official David
Dwight Peñano was appointed by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)
to be one of the four match commissioners in the AFC U-16 Championship
2008 slated October 4 to 18 at Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Peñano
will join other match commissioners Mohamed Mubarak Al Mohannadi of
Qatar, Kemel Tokabaev of Kyrgyzstan and Roger Luo Zhao of the People's
Republic of China.
"This
will be the final stage of the best under-16 youth teams in the entire
Asian region. It will be another venue of learning experience for me
since the said age-group is related to my work in DFA," Penano said.
Penano
is the head coach of the Davao FA U-15 Youth, regional head coach U-13
of the DFA Center for Excellence under AFC Aid27 Program. He is also a
member of Philippine Football Federation's (PFF) grassroots and youth
committee.
Peñano
was also named a member of the AFC Elite Panel of Match
Commissioners-Education section during the AFC Project Future Course
for Coaching.
Aside
from this, he also served as match official during the AFC Cup Group
Stage matches in Kedah, Malaysia in March and in Perak, Malaysia in
April, AFC Futsal Championships 2008 in Thailand Final Stage in May and
in the 5th South Asian Football Federation Championships in Colombo,
Sri Lanka in June this year. (PNA)
